Here are the happy, smiling faces of the patients, practitioners, parents and grandparents who came on the 2005 Neurofeedback treatment holiday in Greece.

Neurofeedback consists simply of retraining inefficient pathways in the brain by means of electrodes placed appropriately on the scalp. These electrodes record brainwave activity and encourage the patient to improve the functioning of his or her own brain. This is achieved by recording and displaying back to the person their own brainwave so they can regulate the waves without any electrical current being passed into the brain. The therapy is being used to treat numerous disorders, including specific learning difficulties, emotional problems and attention deficits. It is just as applicable for adults as children since all psychological and neurological problems have an underlying brainwave disregulation. The potential of Neurofeedback is vast and research points to many more applications, such as in the future the enhancement of creativity and peak performance or mental fitness.

To promote Neurofeedback as a non-invasive therapy for the correction of brain damage.

To encourage research and education in the field.

To disseminate the results for the benefit of the public.

To relieve the needs of Neurofeedback patients and their families through financial support towards the cost of treatment for those who would not otherwise be able to afford it.
